I took this picture of Ron on our fall trip 2010; he was in remission and 62 years old. During his 9 month remission he returned to officiating high school volleyball and basketball. He ran a 5K at Thanksgiving.
Always time to reminisce when birthdays and anniversaries pass. It is hard to believe that it has been three years since Ron's transplant. Soon after he seemed to morph into a different person, but another 18 months passed before I accepted that he wasn't coming back, and a period of grieving for who he had been started. I hadn't expected "the new normal" to be such a radical change. At the same time, we continue to have good days in a new way and still laugh every day. Things happen that would have made me crumble in the past but I take in stride today...even laugh about at times. That is how we get through some of the hard times.
Thanks for the updates Jan. Brenda and I thanking of you both. Dane & Brenda
